GiveNOLA Fundraising

Fundraising is one of the most crucial tasks in running a non-profit organization. It is time consuming and the responsibility often falls to a very small staff. Louisiana Landmarks Society asked me to come in and help them with GiveNOLA for 2015 and 2016.

GiveNOLA, hosted by The Greater New Orleans Foundation, is the community's one-day, online giving event to inspire people to give generously to nonprofit organizations who are creating a thriving community for all. Every dollar donated from midnight to midnight TODAY, 5/3, will be increased with additional "lagniappe" dollars provided by the Greater New Orleans Foundation and GiveNOLA Day sponsors.

This fundraiser is based, primarily, in social media. I worked with the board to created and implemented a marketing plan that included social media, post cards, emails, and signage for Pitot House. I also used the organization logos (both Louisiana Landmarks and GiveNOLA) to create marketing collateral that can be used and adapted over multiple years at minimal cost. The marketing campaigns starts approximately two months prior to the giving day. For the 24 straight hours of the event, I do hourly marketing and giveaways while reporting funds raised back to the board at designated intervals. After the event, I create all reports and mine donor data for future outreach.
